FSD series compressors are equipped with a highly effective cooling system, which uses a radial fan to draw cool ambient air in through the cooler. This innovative design optimises the cooling effect, as the air is not pre-warmed. In addition, each unit features a high-efficiency EU eff1-rated motor that turns at only 1,490 rpm, which enhances system service life. The air-end and motor are designed to operate at the same low speed and are linked via a 1:1 maintenance-free drive coupling. This feature not only eliminates the transmission losses associated with gear or belt drive, but also considerably reduces energy consumption, maintenance requirement and sound output levels. As the use of variable speed drive has significant advantages for certain applications, an FSD model is also available with Kaeser’s Sigma Frequency Control.
